I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of stepping back from the spotlight and doing the personal work. For the countless women I’ve worked with, and in my own life, the greatest breakthroughs did not come from focusing solely on work, entrepreneurship or ministry (I've done all 3). It came from addressing the internal foundations of my identity.
MY BREAKTHROUGH CAME WHEN I DECIDED TO LEAD MYSELF FIRST.
We have been taught to define success by the results we achieve or the roles we play. There is no title or accomplishment that can replace knowing who you are and leading from that place. I learned this lesson the hard way after experiencing burnout and the frustration of not being fulfilled. I found myself questioning my identity even in the midst of success and I didn't have a space to deal with it. I realized that true success and fulfillment started with a deep understanding of who I was and what I stood for. When I realized that who I was couldn't get me to where I was going, I knew it was deeper and it began with me.
I started asking myself hard questions:
•Who am I outside of what I do (because I didn't know)?
• How are my beliefs shaping the way I lead and live (I couldn't answer)?
• Am I building something meaningful or just going through the motions (I've been "groomed" to perform)?
The answers didn’t come overnight, but as I worked to align my identity with my life and work, I not only shifted my life, I created my proprierity framework called identity-centered leadership. It provided the personal clarity and tools to lead with authenticity and impact. My mission is to guide individuals to that same clarity. This is not just book theory, this is also my LIFE journey. That’s why I created Woman Behind The VisionTM: “The Journey Behind the Success.” This is not another leadership or business conference with a cute title or prompt. It’s a safe and aligned space for high impact women to step away from the noise and reconnect with themselves.
I will be facilitating all the sessions! This is not a pitch opportunity shaped into a conference. This is you and me doing the work. This is how serious I am about this work. Through training sessions, transformational exercises, and actionable tools, you’ll leave this event with a renewed sense of alignment and confidence to lead not just your work....but yourself.

Dr. Cerrissa is the Author of Cultivating & Creating Healthy MyNDSpaces: 9 Strategies to Emotional Wellness & Personal Growth. She is also the Founder & CEO of MyNDSpace Mental Health. In January 2022, MyNDSpace was launched as a mental health practice in Charleston, SC, providing medication management, addictions services, SRAVATO treatment, and school based therapy services. As an added service, Dr. Hugie and the practice's clinicians provide mental health workshops, training, & consulting for government agencies, corporations, universities, K-12 schools, community-based programs, faith communities, nonprofit organizations, and mental health professionals.
Using her professional training and experiences, Dr. Cerrissa advocates for a holistic biopsychosocial approach to mental health, which requires that we compassionately consider our full selves — the mind, the body, the spirit, and the environments in which we live, work, and play. She was recently named among the Harbour Club Future Leaders Class of 2022. In addition, she was also a recipient of Charleston Regional Business Journal's Forty Under 40 Award.
